Ceren Özkan

Psychologist

About

Ceren graduated from Koç University Psychology Department in 2019 with honors degree. She started Clinical Psychology master’s degree with adult track at Istanbul Bilgi University in 2022 and currently at the thesis stage of her master's degree. She continues her in-person and online psychodynamic psychotherapy with adults. She provides psychotherapy sessions in English and Turkish.

 

During her bachelor’s years she had been worked as an intern psychologist at Bengi Semerci Institute, Ekip Norma Razon Child, Youth and Family Counseling Center and PSI Counseling Center. During her bachelor’s years and after graduation, she had taken part in scientific researches conducted at Koç University Child and Family Studies Laboratory under the direction of Prof. Ayşe Bilge Selçuk.

 

During her graduate studies, she applied and reported psychological tests such as Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), Rorschach and MMPI. Through the intership part of her master’s degree, she had conducted psychodynamic psychotherapy processes with adults at Bilgi University Psychological Counseling Unit and Psychological Counseling Center for a year under supervision.

 

In 2016, she had taken part in data entry in the project “Evaluation of Behavioral, Emotional and Psychological Characteristics of Children and Adolescents Living in Southeastern Anatolia” conducted by Koç University Child and Family Studies Laboratory under the direction of Assoc. Prof. Ayşe Bilge Selçuk.

 

In 2018, she had participated in reading groups on child - adolescent development and psychopathology at PSI Psychological Counseling Center. In the same year, she had been an intern psychologist at Bengi Semerci Institute during the summer semester.

 

Between 2019 and 2020, she was intern psychologist at Ekipnormarazon Child, Youth and Family Counseling Center.

 

Between 2019 and 2021, she was an assistant psychologist at PSI Psychological Counseling Center. In addition to assistantship at PSI Counseling, she participated at reading groups and supervision meetings.

 

In 2020, she completed the MOXO d-CPT Attention Test Training and qualified as a test practitioner.

 

In 2021, she completed the 42-hour Basic Level Trauma training organized by World Human Relief.

 

Between 2021 and 2022, she had participated in the “Links between maternal mental state talk and child’s mental state understanding: The role of intergroup attitudes” project conducted at Koc University Child and Family Studies Laboratory. She worked as a volunteer research assistant in data collection, data entry and data coding processes.

 

In 2022, she had participated in the “Introduction to Psychoanalysis Seminars” organized by Psike Istanbul Psychoanalytic Association.

 

In 2023, she took role in the seminar team of Istanbul Bilgi University Psychological Counseling Center.

 

In the same year, she had provided psychosocial support voluntarily to earthquake survivors in Kahramanmaraş under the DEPSDA Project supported by Turkish Psychological Association.

 

Between 2023 and 2024, she had participated as co-therapist in the field studies named as “Why is Love So Difficult?: Looking at Couple Relationship with Awareness” and “What am I going to do with these emotions?” conducted at Istanbul Bilgi University as part of her field-internship studies.

 

She is a member of Turkish Psychological Association.
